Treatment of folate-deficient megaloblastic anemiaAdult 5 mg daily for 4 mth. Childn up to 1 yr 500 mcg/kg once daily. Prophylaxis of megaloblastic anemia in childn on dialysisChildn ≥1 yr 5-10 mg daily, 1-12 mth 250 mcg/kg once daily. Prophylaxis of megaloblastic anemia of pregnancy 200-500 mcg daily. Women of child-bearing potential 400 mcg daily.
